Nicotine
"For pharmaceutical use, Alchem offers Nicotine with all its inherent benefits"

Nicotine is a potent parasympathomimetic alkaloid found in the nightshade family of plants (Solanaceae) and a stimulant drug. It is named after the tobacco plant Nicotiana tabacum and is a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist. Our 100% natural nicotine boasts superior taste, high purity and great stability. It possesses superior and consistent flavour profile, enabled by extraction from selected tobacco leaves and consists of exceptionally low level of impurities, exceeding EP/USP nicotine monographs.

Nicotine binds stereo-selectively to nicotinic-cholinergic receptors on autonomic ganglia, the adrenal medulla, neuromuscular junctions and in the brain. Nicotine exerts two effects, a stimulant effect exerted at the locus ceruleus and a reward effect in the limbic system. Itranvenous administration of nicotine causes release of acetylcholine, norepinephrine, dopamine, serotonine, vasopressin, beta-endorphin and ACTH.

The primary therapeutic use of nicotine is in treating nicotine dependence in order to eliminate smoking with the damage it does to health. Controlled levels of nicotine are given to patients through gums, dermal patches, lozenges, electronic cigarettes or nasal sprays in an effort to wean them off their dependence. Our nicotine ingredient range includes pure nicotine EP/USP and diluted nicotine EP/USP. Standardised and custom liquid nicotine dilutions can be prepared with vegetal glycerine, mono propylene glycol and distilled water.

The product addresses broad spectrum physiological concerns and has the band width and capabilities to meet expectations. Regular use should exhibit demonstrable results to inhibit various health related issues.
