Quinine sulphate
"For pharmaceutical use, Alchem offers Quinine sulphate with all its inherent benefits"

Quinine is a cinchona alkaloid that belongs to the aryl amino alcohol group of drugs. It is an extremely basic compound and is, therefore, always presented as a salt. It is an antimalarial agent which rapidly acts against Plasmodium falciparum, P. vivax, P. ovale and P. malarie. Quinine and its salts such as Quinine sulphate prove to be an effective drug for the treatment of falciparum malaria and thus is the drug of choice for infections due to chloroquine resistant P. falciparum. It also has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties.

Quinine sulphate is used in the treatment of malaria (falciparum malaria, or if the infective species is not known). It is a highly active blood schizonticide and suppresses the asexual cycle of development of malaria parasites in the erythrocytes. Quinine inhibits nucleic acid synthesis, protein synthesis, and glycolysis in Plasmodium falciparum and can bind with hemazoin in parasitized erythrocytes. It is effective both as a suppressive drug and in the overt clinical attack of malaria.

In addition quinine sulphate exerts relaxant effects on skeletal muscle. It increases the tension responses to a single maximal stimulus delivered to the muscle directly or through the nerve but it increases the refractory period of muscle so that the response to tetanic stimulation is reduced. Recumbency leg muscle cramps and myotonia congenita are thus effectively relieved by treatment with quinine.

The product addresses broad spectrum physiological concerns and has the band width and capabilities to meet expectations. Regular use should exhibit demonstrable results to inhibit various health related issues.
